Exotic Review : Khepri’s Sting

The wound is not deep, but you know it exists – and that is enough.

The Khepri’s Sting is an exotic gauntlet that is designed for a stealthy Hunter that is more of a hands on type. This exotic has a strong melee focus and so could benefit from your Guardian having a high Strength rating. Its signature perk, Touch of Venom, provides you with invisibility after crouching in place a for short time, which can be utilised not only to make you more difficult to hit when you are retreating but also to make you less likely to be seen as you move in for the kill. Khepri’s Sting also provides a significant boost to melee attacks via that same perk as, while wearing these melee attacks from behind while invisible do four times the initial damage. On top of this your melee attacks leave a lingering damage effect and so requires you to use the full range of perks on this exotic in order to get the most out of it. This exotic is subclass neutral and has a great range of applications for both PVE and PVP. Invisibility is always a handy skill and the extra melee damage will almost guarantee that you succeed in any fistfight you enter into, whether it is against an enemy Guardian or a minion of the Darkness.

The Khepri’s Sting has two main notable features, the first being the moving Scarab Beetle that is present on the forearm. Both the legs as well as the pincers move independently and it provides this exotic with some energy of its own. The usage of a Scarab Beetle could be due to the large imposing pincers that represent the increased damage of your Hunters melee attack. The second focal point of these gauntlets is the shoulder piece which bears resemblance to the head of a Hercules Beetle. The shoulder plate is spiked and is quite exaggerated which makes it quite imposing and altogether quite interesting. This exotic is topped off with a red, green and yellow colour scheme which is quite vivid and bright which in the animal world can oftentimes mean that they are poisonous which suits this exotic quite well.

How to Acquire it?
The Khepri’s Sting can be gained from an exotic gauntlet engram or purchasing it from Xur if you are lucky enough for him to have it in his inventory.
