Destiny Exotic Reviews

Exotic Review : Universal Remote

To the untrained eye this beast is a junker. To the trained eye, however, this junker…is a beast.

Lore
This gun is an engineering marvel and it took a massive amount of coordination and fine-tuning to create a gun that has the power and punch of a shotgun yet has the aim and precision of a primary range rifle. It is seen as a weak weapon but for the right Guardian and in the right hands this gun is an unstoppable force.

Performance
The Universal Remote is a shotgun type weapon that can be equipped in the primary weapon shot and treated as a primary weapon. It has an impressive range and rewards a skilled hand with its namesake perk, Universal Remote, which provides a boost to range and precision damage while aiming down sights. This weapon is a match made in heaven for that up close and personal playstyle in the Crucible. In most cases it can kill opposing Guardians in a single shot from a range that will defeat even conventional shotguns. On top of this your Guardian can go into PVP with this gun as a primary and a sniper rifle as a secondary so you have both long and close range covered. This gun isn’t designed as a powerhouse for PVE due to the small magazine size and lower reserve ammunition but it definitely serves a niche.

Aesthetic
This exotic definitely has a strong feel and appears to be built quite solidly. The large scope on top of the Universal Remote showcases its ability as a precision weapon and coupled with the solid body proves through its very aesthetic that it is a tank of a precision gun. It has a subtle camouflage pattern that is simplistic yet very appealing.

How to Acquire it?
The Universal Remote can be gained from an exotic primary engram or purchasing it from Xur if you are lucky enough for him to have it in his inventory.
