Exotic Review : Telesto

Vestiges of the Queen’s Harbingers yet linger among Saturn’s moons.

While the search for Mara Sov and the missing Techeun Witches was undertaken it was discovered, around Saturn’s 13th moon, a collection of Harbinger matter. This coalescence was designated Telesto and a sample was taken and delivered to the acting regent, Petra Venj. A continuation of the search for the missing awoken is underway, scouring the remaining 100 000km3 of space. However it was the duty of the Armada Paladin in command of this expedition to recommend the declaration of the deaths of; Paladin Yasmin Eld, Paladin Leona Bryl, Paladin Abryl Zire, Paladin Pavel Nolg, Techeun Shuro, Techeun Sedia, Techeun Kali and Awoken Queen Mara Sov. However as the acting regent commander of the Awoken, it is not the duty of Petra Venj to officially announce these deaths.

The Telesto takes the traditional make of fusion rifles having a delayed charge yet powerful burst to a whole new level. The perk Unplanned Reprieve allows for this fusion rifles projectiles to attach to targets and detonate with a delayed Void blast. This perk can be a lot of fun to wield as the projectiles and be utilised as a trap that, if timed right can detonate and deal damage to all enemies either pursuing or retreating through an area. On top of this, you can attach these projectiles to a retreating enemy and hopefully it will detonate when they reach the larger body of Darkness minions. This will further deal destruction. This exotic has a secondary perk known as, Harbinger’s Spark which provides Orbs of Light if you can manage to score a multi-kill with this weapon. Telesto can be used in both PVP and PVE but you have to be cautious in a PVP arena as it will take an adjustment to your playstyle. While fusion rifles in general are tricky to utilise due to the prediction of the charge and when it will fire coming into play, Telesto adds the lack of damage at the initial impact. While your opponent will die or be seriously damaged if you manage to stick them with Telesto’s projectiles, your adversary will still have time to eliminate you as well. Just utilise this weapon carefully and play to the delayed projectiles strengths. The ability to spread the projectiles out over a large area as well as to set traps of a sort makes it ideal for a PVE setting and the Harbinger’s Spark perk will work wonders for helping your team generate their Supers.

Telesto has a definite futuristic feel to it that belies its advanced technology. The white washed exterior provides it with a simplistic yet stunning look that makes it stand out. This exotic has a sleek design and even the magazine, underneath the trigger is of a curved nature which makes it seem a touch more refined. On top of this weapon are a series of apparent coils which could not only be utilised for the charging of the blast but it may hold the Awoken secret to the powerful delayed blast of their Harbinger weaponry.

How to Acquire it?
The Telesto can be gained from an exotic secondary engram or purchasing it from Xur if you are lucky enough for him to have it in his inventory.
