So as many of you know, there were nine exotic armour pieces that were found within Bungie’s armoury before The Taken King expansion was released. It was thought that these exotics would have been released with The Taken King but sadly it was not the case. We did see the new Twilight Garrison and ATS/8 Arachnid enter the games loot table, leaving the Warlocks without a new exotic which was disappointing. However with the Rise of Iron expansion looming on the horizon we may be seeing a resurgence of the hidden exotics which people seem to have forgotten and Bungie is trying to hide. Even if you try to search the armoury for these exotic armour pieces in the present time, it will come up classified. Why classify something if it is not going to be a part of the game? In this regard it is a fair assumption that these exotic armour pieces are going to arriving in the near future, hopefully with Rise of Iron. Lets take a look at the exotics and their abilities.
These are large beefy Titan exotic gauntlets that are red in colouration and are very similar to those gigantic arm pieces of Valus Ta’aun, the Primus taken by Oryx within the Taken King story missions. The perk on this exotic is known as One Two Punch which affects your Titan’s abilities when they are utilising the Striker subclass. Any Fist of Havoc Kills while wearing these exotic gauntlets will recharge your melee and melee kills will charge your Fist of Havoc. On top of this, you will gain an additional melee charge.
The Dunemarchers are another set of Titan boots for any of the Titan subclasses. This exotic holds the perk, Speed Demon which affects how your heavily armour clad Guardian moves in a big way. This perk graces your Titan with increased sprint speed, extended slide distance, increased movement speed while aiming your weapon and tighter turn radius while sprinting. These boots can do nothing but good for your Guardian and they would function perfectly in either PVE or PVP.
On to the Hunters with this exotic that is solely for those skip grenade loving Bladedancers. These gauntlets are relatively simple, perk-wise but highly effective. It holds the exotic perk, New Tricks, which improves your Skip Grenade and grants you an additional Skip Grenade charge. It does not state how the Skip Grenade would be improved but I suspect that it will have something to do with the way it tracks, perhaps it will track more accurately and quickly or have a larger detection radius for when it begins to track an opposing Guardian.
Another set of exotic boots that have graced the Hunter is Frost-EE5, which I like to refer to as Frostees. These boots grant the perk, Rapid Cooldown which provides a tighter turn radius while sprinting in a similar way to the Titan’s Mk.44 Stand Asides. However the second part of the exotic perk is unique and quite interesting as you will gain increased grenade and melee regeneration while sprinting, further increasing the ability of the Hunter to appear, unleash a devastating attack and then run off. In essence, these boots are allowing Hunters to stay fr0st-ee.
These Warlock exotic gauntlets are for a Voidwalker who wishes to utilise the Siphon abilities of their energy drain. The exotic perk, Viper Totemic improves your Siphon abilities like the Skull of Dire Ahamkara, as well as allowing your weapons to reload very quickly and come to the ready faster, which means after a reload or a weapon switch, you are quickly back into the fight. The great thing about this exotic is that it boosts the speed on all weapons, not just a particular type which can be useful in any situation in the Destiny universe.
Have you ever been killed by a Hunter or Warlock utilising their Blink teleport, or been momentarily confused as to where they went before you were sent to wait for Ghost resurrection? The Astrocyte Verse is not going to help you much in that struggle with the exotic perk, Teleportation, which reduces the cooldown of Blink while extending the teleports range. Expect a lot more Blinking around the Destiny world with this exotic, which could mean a lot more deaths if an opposing Warlock is utilising this helmet. However, on the positive side, if you notice a Warlock wearing this exotic headpiece, you expect them to Blink, meaning you can be ready and waiting for it.
Warlock boots. Finally. The wait has been long but Warlock players will not be disappointed with the Transversive Steps. The exotic perk, Strange Angles, boosts movement speed while crouching and picking up ammo automatically reloads the weapon of that ammo’s type. This means even if you do not have the weapon equipped, if you find and pick up ammo for that gun, it will be reloaded when you switch to it. The applications for this are immense as collecting special ammo from crates or picking up heavy ammo on the field does not require you to switch to the gun and get it ready in case of a sudden attack or an open opportunity. You can trust in the fact that your gun is always reloaded assuming there is ample ammo.
