Attikus was born a lowly Thrall in service to the Jennerit Imperium. However he was selected for a unique experiment that saw him locked up and fitted with a cyber augmentation, dubbed the Hedronic Collector. This augmentation, which was in essence, a giant robotic arm, was able to utilise readily available plasmite shards for additional electrical power, turning Attikus himself into an even more formidable weapon than he already was. While in containment, he was prone to violent mood swings that saw several members of the research team flattened. While the experiment on the Thrall was designed to increase their combat effectiveness, which it did, boosting Attikus’ musculature, it also served to substantially increase his intellect. It is at this point that Attikus identifies himself as Attikus. Attikus had begun to ask about the current physical status of his Thrall brood mates, showing that he does indeed care about his brethren.
Attikus’ heightened awareness of the dismal conditions that the Thrall were left in, developed his already formidable anger to a fever pitch. Before the arrival of Attikus, there had already been several rebellions by the Thrall, and by several I mean two, and each had resulted in limited success. Being an Ascendant Thrall, possessing both great intellect and great strength, Attikus lead the Third Thrall Rebellion. Attikus hacked into the Tempest Public Network feed and spread a message to his fellow brothers and sisters, about the importance of carving their own destiny and rescuing their lives from the tyrant Rendain. He makes one promise – tomorrow they will be free.
Attikus was recruited shortly before the final major battle in the fight for the last star where they assaulted Tempest and the Heliophage. Ghalt, having fought many Thrall over his career in the UPR believed they were simple, single-minded, vicious warriors that were the perfect tool to be used at the hands of a master puppeteer. He was wrong. He realised that Attikus was not only brutally powerful but also incredibly resourceful and intelligent, which would make him an incredibly useful ally. Not only that, he was driven to bring down Rendain no matter the cost. Attikus was seeking revenge for both his imprisonment and the abuse of his Thrall brethren. A trustworthy ally.
Following the assault on Tempest and the defeat of Rendain, a conversation was overheard between Attikus and Mellka where the former provided a large and eloquent speech about Rendain seeking his subservience and humiliation. The Jennerit Imperium believed that by fitting him with his giant glove, that they had weaved a manacle of shame and toil. In Attikus’ words, “I have thusly stricken the serpent upon its tooth, that it should bite at us no longer”. Mellka assumed that this meant that Attikus had struck Rendain in the face with his robotic glove…she was correct.
Weapon Of Choice
Attikus is a very technologically advanced Battleborn, using the power of his large Thrall fists to pound enemies into red mist. Granted one of his arms is giant (gianter than giant), robotic and can be electrified but it still counts as fists. His melee attacks consist of alternating hits with each of his arms, one organic and one super-robotic. They deliver a significant impact and can knock back opponents if you hit them in the right spot. However, Attikus’ melee attack has a very small range so you will need to get right up close to your opponent to deal any damage.
Attikus is first and foremost a front line brawler. He is equipped with a significant shield and a huge amount of health (around 3000 at rank 10), so he can spend as much time as possible engaged in hand to hand combat with any opponent. But countering that, he is not an agile character as he is designed to get right up close and pummel down his targets. However he does have a short range Pounce ability that can be used to launch himself out of the action if you are getting overwhelmed. It can also be used to throw yourself into the middle of things with a bang. While playing Attikus, you must keep in mind that he is very limited in ranged attacks, having only his Pounce that can deal a significant amount of damage from mid-range if used correctly. It will be a waste of time and of a potentially strong Battleborn if you stray away from the front lines too often.
Passive/Hedronic Collector : Attikus gains 1 charge per kill (5 for major enemies) up to a maximum of 5. While Fully Charged, the next skill use consumes all charges for an added effect.
Weapon/Barefisted Brawling : Attikus’ primary attack is a relentless bare-handed assault using both fists.
Fully Charged : Attacks gain 25% shield penetration.
Talent/Charged Hook : Attikus’ secondary attack is a devastating right hook that can be charged up for additional damage.
Skill 1/Pounce : Leap to a target location dealing 133 damage and silencing enemies where Attikus lands.
Fully Charged : Deals 200 damage to shields.
Skill 2/Hedronic Arc : Electrifies Attikus for 8 seconds. Damaged enemies are shocked and wounded, taking 88 damage over 4 seconds.
Fully Charged : Shock also damages nearby enemies.
Ultimate/Hedronic Eruption : Attikus hurls 10 shockwaves of energy over 5 seconds that each deal 84 damage.
Fully Charged : Enemies are also heavily slowed.
*Hedronic Siphoning : A portion of damage dealt by Hedronic Arc is returned to Attikus as health. +15% life steal.
*Energetic Burst : Pounce also deals additional damage in an area of effect around Attikus at the beginning of his leap. +50% damage.
*Staggering Pounce : Enemies damaged by Pounce are slowed. +3 seconds slow duration.
*(MUTATION)Invigorating Pounce : Pounce gives Attikus life steal on all damage dealt for a short time. +30% life steal for 8 seconds.
*Energetic Pounce : Activating Pounce causes Attikus’ shields to immediately begin rapidly recharging until impact. +105 shield recharge per second.
*Brawlers Boon : A portion of damage dealt by Attikus’ melee attacks is returned to him as health. +15% life steal.
*Tenacity : Repeated melee damage to the same target within 2 seconds stacks bonus damage up to 5 times. Up to 60% damage.
*Dampening Field : Enemies damaged by Hedronic Arc suffer reduced damage output for a short time. -30% enemy damage output for 1 second.
*Quickening Arc : Attikus moves faster while Hedronic Arc is shocking enemies. +30% movement speed.
*Hedronic Regeneration : Attikus gains a small boost to health regeneration for each charge accumulated by Hedronic Collector. Up to +35 health regeneration per second.
*(MUTATION)Charge Efficiency : Executing a Fully Charged skill consumes 1 charge instead of 5, but Attikus only gains 1 charge per major enemy kill instead of 5.
*Hedronic Haste : Attikus’ skill cooldowns are reduced slightly for each charge accumulated by Hedronic Collector. Up to -15% cooldown time.
*Disruptor Field : Increases Hedronic Arc damage against enemy shields. +50% bonus damage to shields.
*Chain Breaker : If Pounce kills a major enemy, the skills cooldown is immediately reset.
*Unstoppable : Increases Attikus’ maximum health. +360 maximum health.
*(MUTATION)Increases damage dealt by critical hits. +20% critical damage.
*Swift Strikes : Increases Attikus’ attack speed. +20% attack speed.
*Big Splash : Increases Pounce’s area of effect. +50% area of effect radius.
*Power Pounce : Increases Pounce’s damage. +15% damage.
*Hedronic Chain : Hedronic Arc chains to nearby enemies, dealing reduced damage to the additional targets. 50% damage to nearby targets.
*(MUTATION)Greased Lightning : Increases the damage per second dealt by Hedronic Arc but reduces its duration. +100% damage per second, -2 seconds duration.
*Aftershock : Increases the amount of time that enemies take damage when shocked by Hedronic Arc. +2 seconds duration.
*Wake Of Devastation : Hedronic Eruption scorches the earth, dealing damage over time to enemies in its area of effect. +240 damage over 2 seconds.
*(MUTATION)Payback Time : Each Hedronic Eruption shockwave deals more damage the lower Attikus’ durrent health is. Up to 60% damage.
*Unstoppable Rampage : Each enemy killed by Hedronic Eruption prolongs its duration. +2 seconds per kill, up to +10 seconds duration.
