‘Destiny 2’ Set For A Late 2017 Release And Promises To Deliver A Greater Experience

Recently Activision released a presentation detailing their fourth quarter earnings for 2016. In this report, it has been shown that Destiny 2 is well on track for a late 2017 release, coming to consoles and possibly PC, in Fall/Spring.

The vague statement from Bungie and Activision is as follows;

“Full Destiny sequel in 2017 to broaden the franchises global reach, which along with follow-on content plans, sets the stage for growth”

What this means is that Destiny 2 is going to be more aimed at casual gamers and making the game friendly for those players who do not spend an excessive amount of time within the games universe. On top of this, Destiny 2 has a spree of add on DLC packs that will be released throughout the life of the game.

The same report has stated that the aim for this instalment is to focus on a great cinematic story that has a high level of continuity, as opposed to the stop-start exposition of the vanilla Destiny game. The rumour is that the writers of the highly acclaimed Taken King expansion are at the story writing helm of the sequel.

This is fantastic news for fans of any story based games, especially with a universe as wide and full of mystery like the Destiny universe. More continuity and lore is definitely needed.
