‘Middle-Earth : Shadow Of War’ Is Going To Be A Play Anywhere Title!

It has only been a few hours since the latest Lord of the Rings game has breached the uncertain waters of game development and already people are going crazy for it. Further adding to the hype train is the fact that, Middle Earth : Shadow of War, the sequel to the highly acclaimed, Shadow of Mordor, is going to be an Xbox Play Anywhere title!

What this means is that the game can be digitally purchased on either Xbox One or on a PC running with Windows 10, and will be playable on the other device without having to repurchase the game. Sweetening the deal is the fact that all progress and save files will be accessible on either PC or Xbox One. In regards to Shadow of War and the other Play Anywhere titles, Xbox has stated that the game will also be available to play on the Project Scorpio, with no additional cost to the player.

Currently there are some big AAA titles that are currently Xbox Play Anywhere compatible, those being Halo Wars 2, Gears of War 4 and Resident Evil 7. On top of that, there are future plans to add a whole spree of new Play Anywhere games, presumably later this year. This list includes, Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3 and of course Shadow of War.

In the same article that announced the release of Shadow of War, Xbox also stated that the AAA title will be available for the Project Scorpio, following the consoles release at the end of the year. The fact that Xbox has mentioned this in regards to the Scorpio suggests that we are going to be getting a spree of new information about the next iteration in Xbox console hardware soon, at least in small snippets.

Middle-Earth : Shadow of War, will be available for digital pre-order on the Windows Store and Xbox Store in a few days, so definitely keep your eye out and join in on the battle to defeat Sauron…again.
