Assassins Creed Origins is already known for its franchise-changing formula and massive open world that stays quite true to history in the ever classic fashion of Assassins Creed. Players will be granted three sizeable expansions in the first three months of 2018, what a perfect way to start the year.
The Hidden Ones
The Hidden Ones will set four years after the events of Origins and the focus will be on Roman forces who battle the Egyptians and indeed the Brotherhood in the new province of Sinai. Set after the death of Marcus Antonius or Mark Antony and Cleopatra (that isn’t a spoiler, it did happen almost 2000 years ) at the hands of Octavian, who become the first Roman Emperor crowned Augustus, in 27 BCE. The Sinai was finally brought under full Roman control in the rule of Emperor Trajan who ruled from 98 CE. For that reason, it is likely that The Hidden Ones will focus on the initial prompts for the conflict.
The Hidden Ones will raise the level cap to the all-new high of 45, provide new gear and weapons to collect and improve alongside new mounts and an outfit for Bayek. Scheduled for release on January 23rd, 2018, The Hidden Ones will be available free for season pass owners or for the low price of $10 USD.
Curse Of The Pharaohs
Curse Of The Pharaohs is technically the third DLC for Assassins Creed Origins, releasing on March 6th, 2018 but it is more of a traditional DLC much like The Hidden Ones.
In Curse Of The Pharaohs, you will travel to Thebes in order to investigate a mysterious and ancient curse that is reanimating the dead. Players will have to face off against risen Pharaohs as well as their undead legions and assorted beasts.
Thebes is an important site in Ancient Egypt, not just for the cult centre but for the fact that the Valley of the Kings comprised part of it. This Valley was the eternal resting place of many Pharaohs, particularly those of the 18th, 19th and 20th dynasties. This means we could possibly expect to see a number of famous Pharaohs, from Akhenaten, Tutankhamun, Hatshepsut, Thutmose III and Ramses II.
Curse Of The Pharaohs will raise the level cap once again to 55, as well as providing new outfits, gear and weapons that are all themed around the diverse and wonderful world of Egyptian mythology. This expansion will be available free for season pass holders or for $20 USD on its own.
Discovery Tour was announced a few months ago as a special expansion designed to help people learn about Ancient Egypt and the amazing culture that the country holds. Discover Tour is going to be a free update coming on February 20th, 2018, which will allow the player to explore the massive world either on your own or with special guided tours. Think of the Discovery Tour as a virtual museum with Ancient Egypt very much at your fingertips.
The best thing about Discovery Tour is that you will be an invulnerable presence, learning without fear of hostiles, either human or animal. Discovery Tour is a free update but can be purchased for $20 USD if you do not own the base game.
The first quarter of 2018 has some very exciting things in store for us in the world of Assassins Creed Origins.
