With the Hungering One having retreated to the depths of the Sea of Thieves, the predatory void has been filled by some similar but very different creatures. It is the Age of the Megalodon on the Sea of Thieves.
Update 1.1.3 has gone live bringing with it a spree of new, terrifying Megalodon to battle while you live the pirate dream. These beasties, much like the Kraken and smaller sharks will now be a permanent fixture on the seas. The same will occur with any content that is released during Cursed Sails and Forsaken Shores.
The amazing thing about the encroaching Megalodon in Sea of Thieves is that they have been observed with different personality traits, adding variation and a level of quirkiness to what are truly terrifying creatures of the deep.
Some of the Megalodon will turn fin and swim away at the sight of a Galleon (time to brush off those Sloops), while others still possess the same aggressive zealousness and unsatisfiable hunger of the Hungering One.
There are doubtless a fair few more Megalodon hidden beneath the surface of the Sea of Thieves and only time will reveal them all.
