Darksiders 3 pits the forces of the Seven Deadly Sins against the third Horseman of the Apocolypse, Fury – a dextrous warrior who fights with a ranged whip and a veritable army of Hollow forms.
Two new trailers have dropped for Darksiders 3 over the last few days, showing off the Sins we must eliminate and much more importantly, Fury’s Horse, Rampage.
With lovely scenic views of the wrecked and infested worlds that Fury must cleanse of the Sins, as well as plenty of intensive combat, the Apocalypse trailer is a teaser of what players can expect when the game launches next week.
The designs for the Seven Deadly Sins are intriguing and promise to deliver tactical and challenging battle mechanics as seen with the gameplay reveal of Sloth.
Fury’s Apocalypse trailer also provides us with a glimpse at her third Hollow form. Imbued with lightning and wielding a simply-shocking staff, Fury delivers death, destruction and despair to any who gets in her way.
Aside from showing off the intriguing art style of the game, and some of the fiendish characters we will meet and/or brutally murder, this trailer serves to build up the excitement ahead of the release next week. And it’s working.
The second trailer is much slower, more emotional and adorable. Fury may be a ruthless propagator of death and dismemberment but she has a definite soft spot when it comes to her horse, Rampage.
Ruin follows War,
Despair follows Death,
Rampage follows Fury.
Showing the bond Fury shares with the fiery Rampage this trailer is a heart-melter but one that shows the latter in all its burning glory.
Previous gameplay and trailers, while action-packed and energetic show little of the non-business side of Fury. There has been very little emotion or, for lack of a better word, ‘humanness’ behind her her character. The Horse With No Name trailer on the other hand shows Fury interacting with Rampage in such a fashion that makes her seem personable and as having greater depth than just being a tool of the apocalypse.
Darksiders 3 is scheduled for release on Tuesday November 27th on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
