Scheduled to arrive in Autumn 2019, Monster Hunter World is getting a massive new expansion titled, Iceborne. A recently released teaser trailer heralded this announcement but didn’t actually reveal much except the name of the new expansion itself.
The above trailer shows the ever-terrifying form of Rathalos flying across an ocean towards a brand new world that will most likely cause you to pack your jumper.
Iceborne will feature a new story that is set after the events of the main game and will feature new gameplay elements for Hunters to learn and master, and which can be utilised in the main game.
According to Capcom’s Producer, Ryozo Tsujimoto, Iceborne, while not as big as the base game, will be quite sizeable and will build upon the existing world. Of course, this will include new Monsters that we will get to hunt down and, in no uncertain terms, destroy.
A menagerie of brand new, never-before-seen Monsters, as well as some old favourites, will be entering MHW with the arrival of Iceborne. In fact, the end of the teaser trailer shows off one of the returning monsters amid overarching shadow.
We will undoubtedly hear more details about Iceborne as we get closer to launch, but for now, rest comfortably in the knowledge that we are getting a large expansion full of new gameplay and intense new challenges.
