You may have heard about the coveted Halo games being made available for PC players to enjoy. But what you may not have heard is that Halo: Reach is joining the Master Chief Collection (MCC) for all platforms.
Halo: Reach follows the struggles of NOBLE Team, a fireteam of six Spartans (five Spartan IIIs and one Spartan II if you wish to get specific) as they battle against the interstellar invasion force known as the Covenant.
Set just before the events of Halo: Combat Evolved, Reach is quintessentially the first Halo game that should be played as it gives a sense of the struggle and scope of the intense war.
While it is being added to the MCC, not all of Reach will be available to all players. All multiplayer content including Forge (yay!) and Theatre will be accessible to everyone who owns the Collection. The Campaign and Firefight will be available as a premium digital add-on, the price of which has not yet been divulged.
However, if you are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass you will gain access to everything Reach has to offer. While on PC, the entire package will come bundled together.
Much like the other titles in the Master Chief Collection, Reach will run smoothly at 60 FPS and will look incredible on 4K/HDR compatible hardware.
On a personal note, Halo: Reach has been a game that has impacted my life for the better and part of what made me fall in love with video game storytelling. I cannot wait to see Emile again.
Unfortunately, no release date for Reach has been announced as yet, aside from a vague ‘later this year’, but make no mistake – it is time to take back Reach.
